Your Next Book: It’s in the Cards

Join book coach and tarot practitioner Margaret McNellis in a four-session course presented by Tea & Tarot to help writers develop their next novel using her tarot spread, Your Next Book. The course will include working with this 9-card spread, writing prompts, an in-course discussion feature, and an online community to learn alongside with. In module 1, students will learn about character development and the different types of characters they can create from a writing craft standpoint. In module 2, they will learn how to create an engaging character arc to bring the writer on the protagonist’s internal journey. Module 3 will show students how to create a story arc in order to craft an external journey that will not only support but prompt the protagonist’s internal growth. In Module 4, students will learn how to map these journeys using the Inside Outline tool, developed by Author Accelerator. Throughout all of these modules, students will use elements of McNellis’s Your Next Book tarot spread. By the time students complete this course, they will have a thorough understanding of their protagonist’s internal and external journey as well as a map for story that weaves the two together.

Supplies You Need: A tarot deck and writing materials/computer.

I’m Margaret - an indie author, Author Accelerator Certified book coach, and witch. My happiest days are spent behind my computer screen with a cup of tea, sharing my secrets with the world!

Margaret McNellis, MFA is an indie author, Author Accelerator Certified book coach, and witch. She has five years' experience teaching college English, and ten years' experience teaching the martial arts. Margaret has been practicing tarot on and off since the mid-1990s, but dove into a daily practice when she became a witch in 2017. She's delighted to bring her experiences to Tea & Tarot as a Sage & Scribe where she works as a tarot practitioner and instructor for those who wish to weave witchcraft and writing together.
